Cal Poly Team travels August 30 - September 16 to Malawi

Sept. 30, 2008 :  We’re Back from Malawi!

Thank you so much to all who helped make this trip possible for us!

We had an amazing trip.  We’re working on editing videos and organizing photos for presentations, so we’ll have more info up soon!  There is so much to share about what we learned in Malawi.

* Meet Malawi govt & NGO partners; assess Ped A Pump with widows
* Q&A with expert developer in East Africa, NGO planning sessions
* Capacity buildng workshops with widows, youth & NGO officers
* Visit future irrigation training facility; meet district officials and chiefs
* Brainstorm with rural community of dissemination of appropriate technologies
* Encourage development clubs experimenting with crop production tools
* Assess locally available materials, shops and resources for future teams
* R&R at Lake Malawi and Liwonde National Park after long rural drives
* Upon return, make presentations to students, administration & SLO community
